Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive exfoliation treatment which helps to repair the skin. This treatment will clean clogged pores and restore your skin while helping to fight signs of aging and hyper-pigmentation skin. Utilizing a stream of micro-crystals projected onto the skin this unique procedure will remove dead and flaking skin and stimulates the production of young skin cells and collagen.
Your Microdermabrasion Procedure
During your Microdermabrasion procedure, our experienced aesthetician applies a handheld device to your skin that applies mild abrasion to the skin to remove the dead skin cells. These cells/particles are then suctioned into the device.
You will feel a mild scratching that may sting slightly. No anesthetic is required, however, because the sensation is not painful.
You may need a series of treatments every 7-10 days to achieve the results you desire. This is especially true if you wish to improve scarring or hyper-pigmentation.
Before and After Microdermabrasion
There is little to no downtime after Microdermabrasion. Your skin will look refreshed and glowing shortly after your procedure, and you can continue immediately with all normal activities, including application of makeup.
In some cases, there is minor residual redness after Microdermabrasion. This can be covered with makeup right away. You may also experience some irritation and inflammation for the first few days after your treatment. Flaking is also possible as the dead skin cells continue to be expelled.
Your skin will be more susceptible to the sun after your procedure, so please use sun screen whenever outdoors. You will be given after-care instructions to make sure that your skin heals quickly and properly.
